Brief Description:
This is a 1:24,000-scale datalayer that includes all of the hydrography features
that appear on the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) 7½ minute topographic
quadrangle maps that cover the State of Connecticut. It includes perenial and
intermittent lakes, ponds, reservoirs, rivers, streams, marshes, dams, and drainage
ditches. In digital form, the hydrography boundary information was derived from
the USGS Digital Line Graph Files (DLG) for the 1:24,000 scale Connecticut quadrangle
maps published between 1969 and 1984.
The USGS 7½ minute topographic quadrangle maps can be purchased at the
DEP Store.
