Coastal Resource Inventory Tutorial

2. Land Cover

Land cover data comes from the UConn Center for Land use Education And Research (CLEAR). It is based on information from the Landsat satellite, and gives an overall picture of what is on the surface of the land in your town—what areas are forested, what areas are developed, what areas are in farmland. Land cover is a key factor in determining land use-generated threats to your coastal resources, like urban runoff.
