Urban Growth
Our urban
growth information comes from the Connecticut's Changing Landscape project
of the UConn Center for Land use Education and Research (CLEAR),
which tracked changes in land cover (see inventory data layer #2)
from 1985 to 2002. These maps show increases in developed land during
this time period as colored areas. Information on where and when land
was developed in the recent past can be juxtaposed with natural resource
information to help assess whether development patterns are posing a
threat to those resources.
