Workshops

The heart of the NEMO program is face-to-face workshops for local officials. We use a combination of sophisticated technology and old-fashioned Extension education to engage its target audience of local decision makers. NEMO offers a number of workshop topics to help you target the challenges your town faces.

All the topics, however, cover some aspect of natural resource-based land use planning and design—the overall approach promoted by NEMO for communities to guide their future landscape. This approach goes beyond a laundry list of natural resource problems, helping towns identify strategies that address key land use issues.

The Municipal Initiative: Going from Education to Action

Taking those first steps after a workshop are a difficult challenge. The Municipal Initiative allows the NEMO Team to concentrate more time with selected communities to help them begin moving forward towards identified goals. Click on the Municipal Initiative link to learn how your municipality can qualify.
